Traveling with your Pooch

Traveling with your Dog can be challenging, especially when looking for safe places for them to burn off their energy. Luckily, Yass Valley is an ideal stopover. Here, you can grab a coffee and let your Dog stretch their legs and enjoy the fresh air.

The Yass Valley Dog Park, located along Laidlaw Street, offers three spacious, fenced areas with plenty of shade, suiting various types of dogs. Each zone is designed to suit different characters and activity levels:

  1. ‘Active Zone’: Perfect for confident and energetic Dogs who love to play and socialise with other pups.
  2. ‘Quiet Zone’: Best for Dogs that prefer a more relaxed environment where they can make friends without engaging in rough play.
  3. ‘Come and Try Zone’: Great for first-time visitors or Dogs that may feel nervous and need some time to settle into the park.

The park is well-maintained, with plenty of rubbish and recycling bins to keep the area tidy. Complimentary doggy bags are also provided to ensure the park remains sanitary and accessible for all. With a newly installed water fountain the Yass Valley Dog Park continues to improve to welcome visitors.

If you’re looking to stretch your own legs a bit more, there is a paved footpath adjacent to the riverside offering amazing views. This path is perfect for a leisurely stroll while enjoying the scenic beauty of Yass Valley.

Just a short drive from Yass is the brand-new Murrumbateman Dog Park. Conveniently located off the Barton Highway and East Street, this expansive park also features three zones similar to the Yass Valley Dog Park, allowing your furry friends to run, play, and socialise. Although there is minimal shade, this location is a great stop for you and your Dog. It’s a good idea to bring some hats and sunscreen as well as taking advantage of the on-site water available for those sunny days. There is a large amount of parking space on offer for everyone to join the parks lively atmosphere.

Both the Yass Valley and Murrumbateman Dog Parks provide lampposts, allowing for enjoyable visits even after dark! This well-lit setting provides a sense of security for dog owners, allowing for you to relax and have fun during those cooler evenings.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, both of these parks are sure to delight you and your best bud.
