With the weather warming up, it’s time to start planning how you can stay cool this summer with a trip to one of Yass Valleys local swimming spots!

Whether you prefer traditional swimming pools or the tranquillity of natural waterways, there is something for everyone in Yass Valley!

Swimming Pools

Grab your swimmers and sunscreen and head to one of the local swimming pools for a safe and fun place to cool down this summer. Both the Yass Olympic Swimming Pool and Binalong Memorial Swimming Pool offer lap and toddler pools, ensuring all ages and swimming abilities are catered for. Each venue provides change rooms with toilets and showers, disabled facilities, and grassed areas with plenty of shade – perfect for a family picnic.

Freshwater Rivers

Are you a lover of the great outdoors? Take a drive down the scenic Tourist Drive 7 and discover the picturesque Wee Jasper Reserves. Here you will find an abundance of beautiful camping areas beside rushing rivers, cascading streams and idyllic picnic spots.

Dangle your toes in the shallows while you relax on the bank or explore the beautiful waterfall at Micalong Creek Reserve. Revel in the natural beauty, breathe in the fresh country air and listen to the songs of the birds as you unwind. If you enjoy fishing or kayaking, Swinging Bridge Reserve is the ideal spot for you! New to the area? At Billy Grace Reserve you will find the office at which all guests are required to check-in. Here you will also find toilets, showers, a playground, picnic tables, BBQ facilities and a small kiosk offering the bare essentials.

Lakes & Waterways

If you enjoy both getting back to nature and the excitement of water-sports, then look no further than one of the four tourist parks hugging the shores and rivers off Lake Burrinjuck! Located just 15 minutes from Yass, surrounded by spectacular hills and farmlands, you will find Good Hope Resort and Hume Park Tourist Resort. If you journey a little further you will also discover Reflections Holiday Parks Burrinjuck Waters and Lake Burrinjuck Leisure Resort.

Whether you decide to come for the day or stay longer (fees apply for both), each venue boasts a range of activities and facilities to suit any visitor. Take your fishing rod and throw in a line, embrace the peacefulness of canoeing or paddle boarding, or launch your boat for a day of wakeboarding and water-skiing. As always, please remember safety first – the dam is bursting with adventure seekers over the warmer months.
