Looking for inspiration to keep the kids busy these Autumn School Holidays? Look no further, as there are plenty of events happening both weeks of the holidays across the region.

Make the most of our free community events and Easter activities for an outing the entire family can enjoy!

We recommend booking in advance to all events to guarantee a spot!

Free Community Events

Yass Valley Library

During the month of April, the Yass Valley Library is hosting a range of events and programs free for children of all ages to attend!

Bookings are essential so don’t miss out and call 02 6226 1305

All events are held at the Yass Valley Library, located behind the Memorial Hall in Yass

Youth Lawn Bowls Workshop (Free)

A game that takes seconds to learn, but a lifetime to master. Get a head start with an accredited coach to become a lawn bowls champ at the 1.5hr beginners workshop. All equipment and lunch afterwards is provided.
Time: 10.30am – 12.00pm, Tuesday 12th April 
Ages: Suitable for ages 10+ – Parents and carers are welcome to join!

Andy Jones “Whats the Joke”

Bestselling children’s author and entertainer, Andy Jones presents a hilarious musical show about jokes and humor. Using his guitar, drums, fun props, Andy will deliver a punch line, create a joke and use gross humor and laugh until your sides ache. Bookings are essential for this free event.

Southern Tablelands Arts Free Bage Making Workshop

Come and join Southern Tableland Arts in this Free workshop held in Yass this Easter school holidays. Choose your art, make your badge and wear it out.

 

When: 10:30am-12pm- Tuesday 19th April

Easter Activities

Yass Railway Museum Easter Egg Hunt

Open Easter Sunday and Monday, why not enjoy a visit to the Yass Railway Museum where the kids can embark on a self-paced Easter egg hunt available all weekend!

When: 10 – 4pm, Sunday 17th & Monday 18th April

Where: 3 Crago Street, Yass

Easter Egg Hunt at Bowning Community Hall

Grab your baskets and head to Bowning for an eggcellent day out! With many chocolates to be found, enjoy a wander through the grounds of the Bowning Community Hall. Open to children aged 1 – 12 years, this event is by gold coin donation and will be followed by a BBQ.

Easter Eggstravaganza Raffle at Yass Soldiers Club 

With more than 50 prizes totalling $7000, don’t miss the Easter Eggstravaganza Raffle at the Yass Soldiers Club on Easter Saturday! Tickets are $2 each or 15 for $20 and you don’t even need to be there to win! With plenty of Easter weekend specials, why not also enjoy a delicious meal in the comfort of this inviting venue.

Easter Seafood Raffle at Yass Soldiers Club

Are you a lover of seafood? Then head on down to the Yass Soldiers Club on Thursday 14th of April where 30 seafood trays with a combined total of $3000 will be up for grabs! The raffle will commence from 8pm so don’t forget to secure a ticket for your chance to win!
